Run during the main weeks of the Summer Holidays and during the Whitsun half term, Residential Camps provide a perfect opportunity for children to have fun and adventure in a safe and caring environment. Specifically for 8-14 year olds, each of the different camps has a packed programme of activities to keep the children entertained and with the addition of some new camps this year, we think there’s something for everyone! Arrive ~ Sunday at 4pm Depart ~ Friday at 6pm The Big Weekend!Extend your stay at the start or end of each camp or bolt two camps together with the addition of The Big Weekend. The extra 2 days from Friday to Sunday include something a bit different - bivouac for the night, cook on an open fire and choose from a range of adventure activities during the day! The cost for The Big Weekend is £80 or FREE if you are bolting two weeks together. StaffAll Staff, whether recruited in the UK or internationally, are selected for their patience, understanding and conscientious approach to caring for children and young people. All staff working on the Fairthorne Manor estate are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau and all references have been taken up to ensure their suitability for our centre. Our staff strive to be excellent role models for all children attending camp. They aim to enhance time spent at Fairthorne with their enthusiasm, commitment and passion for fun. AccommodationChildren sleep under canvas in one of our tent villages. Camping is in large 6 - 8 person frame tents, which have wooden floors. Campers are provided with a roll mat and a pillow but will need to bring a pillow slip. (Please see kit list for a full list of items) Camp leaders sleep in tents adjacent to the children’s and are available throughout the night to offer assistance if needed Open EveningsEach summer we hold Daycamp Open Evenings, allowing parents and children to have a short tour of the activities and meet some of the instructors. The evenings run for an hour from 1800 on Tuesday 6th May and 1900 on Monday 9th June and Monday 7th July. Please call to book your place. Thursday Night EventThis is a chance for parents to see what their children have done during their week. Starting at 7.15pm, parents can enjoy songs and sketches performed by the children. Audience participation is encouraged and Cocoa and hot dogs are served at the end of the evening Children’s Support TeamIf your child has a medical condition or requires additional support please contact the children’s Support Team Co-ordinator to discuss requirements on 01489 785228 at least 4 weeks in advance of your child’s stay.
