Family & Community

Family & Community

People often think of YMCA Fairthorne Group as an organisation that works exclusively with children and young people. While it's true that the majority of our work is done with this age group, we are equally passionate about providing healthy, exciting experiences for families and the community too.

Family Activities

We are keen to welcome people from the local community onto our fabulous sites to enjoy our facilities. There are many opportunities to do this throughout the year including;fireworks

If your family are regular visitors to Fairthorne Manor, then you would be likely to benefit from Club Fairthorne membership which entitles you, among other things, to free entry to Family Fun Days.

Community

YMCA Fairthorne Group is always looking to increase the work we do in the community. We are currently working on a number of community projects concentrating on engaging local young people.

We have recently launched a bursary scheme that awards free Daycamp places to deserving children who, for various reasons, would not otherwise be able to attend.

We also offer a bereavement support service for children from Winchester House on the Isle of Wight. Help2Grieve is a new service for us and we honoured to be offering support and assistance to young people in need.

If you would like further information on the bursary, Help2Grieve or on other ways to support YMCA Fairthorne Group, please contact us .

Young Carers Festivalcampfire

Since 2000 YMCA Fairthorne Manor has hosted an annual Young Carers Festival in June. The festival gives young carers the opportunity to forget their responsibilities for a weekend and come for a fun filled weekend of camping and activities at Fairthorne Manor.

Our Vision for the Future

The YMCA Fairthorne Group is committed to continuing and developing the positive impact we have on the lives of children and young people. We are keen to increasingly offer support and great experiences to families as a unit rather than working exclusively with children.
