Located in the grounds of St Vincent College, Gosport, St Vincent Gosport Nursery provides excellent quality nursery childcare for children of parents who live, work or study in the Gosport area.
The qualified staff provide a welcoming, safe and fun environment where your child’s development is our primary focus. By utilising a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities we enable children to learn through exploration and play.
The YMCA recognise the valuable contribution parents bring to our Gosport Nursery. We believe that by working together every child can be given the opportunity and support to thrive and build all the skills needed to be a happy, healthy and confident individual.
Our nursery is undergoing a refurbishment this summer, so we have relocated to an adjoining college building for a few weeks. We have intermittent access to our normal telephone number, but we can also be contacted on 07467953785.
St Vincent Gosport Nursery is open Monday to Friday 0730-1800 for 51 weeks of the year. The nursery is closed on Bank Holidays and between Christmas and New Year. Take a look through our Childcare Prospectus for more detailed information.
Our Gosport Nursery is registered for 60 children from 4 months – 5 years and offers a wide provision of care including full days, half days and sessional care. The children are divided into 2 group sets:
Rainbows (children under 2 years)
An attractive and stimulating environment, the room provides a wide range of opportunities which focus on the unique developmental progress of babies and toddlers. There is a full range of play and learning opportunities, including the sensory garden, a magical area full of beautiful sensory items for babies and toddlers to experience. Babies and toddlers have regular, daily access to the outdoors.
Discoverers (children aged 2 to 5 years)
This room is designed to meet the needs of children aged 2 to 5 years. It is bright and attractive and the toys and equipment are chosen to meet the developmental needs of the children both now and in preparation for going on to school. This room has areas of learning which include: mark making, rest stories, music, sensory activities, role play, construction, messy/creative play to name but a few. This room is designed to enable children to have a balance of chid led and adult led activities to prepare them for the school classroom. The preschool children have access to the outside to further extend their learning several times each day.

I am so proud to say your great support and guidance was amazing, it has helped my daughter to achieve remarkable growth in learning and other activities…she achieved a rewarding experience from YMCA. As a mum, I cannot forget your help and support for the last 2 years. Seemol Varkey
YMCA is a fantastic nursery, my daughter has come on so much since she started. All the staff are very helpful & polite. My daughter loves attending and has lots of fun. She is well looked after by ALL staff. I would highly recommend YMCA to anyone and will be very sad when my daughter leaves. Sam Howard
I knew that when I joined college to make a better life for me and my children I would have childcare troubles. YMCA nursery solved all my troubles in one day. Thank you, I am now close to being a fully qualified stylist. Amanda Tyrell
Since Samuel has started at St Vincents myself and Clair have felt nothing but complete confidence in the safety and happiness of our little boy. All the staff have been so supportive during the different stages of separation anxiety felt by both Samuel and his mother. The girls at St Vincents always great with a smile and ensure Samuel is fine before we leave them to their variety of fun activities. The training and enjoyment the staff get must be top notch as I feel nothing but happy when I drop my son off and he is always full of himself when I pick him up. Myself and my wife can not thank the girls enough for all they do! You are all wonderful. James Wilkins
