If you hold a level 3 qualification in Childcare (or above) the minimum starting salary is £14,000 per annum for all of our childcare/early years roles.

If applying for one our Childcare Apprentice roles, please note all apprentices will be offered a permanant position at one of our settings on successful completion of their apprenticeship. This offer is dependant on good conduct, attendance and satisfactory work reviews.

Age Group Leader with Holiday Club (ref 560) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £8.20 per hour

If you want to provide inspirational experiences for young children in an amazing outdoor setting this could be the job for you.

You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as the Holiday club’s Age Group Leader. You will have day to day responsibility for both the children and staff within the age group, ensuring the pastoral care for children aged 4-7 and will be their support and inspiration while they are here. You will also be trained in a variety of activities including Obstacle Course, Aqua Slide and Den Building, as well as group games. You will need enthusiasm and imagination to welcome and provide an amazing experience for the children. You will hold a level 3 qualification in either Childcare or Playwork, or a teaching qualification.

Big Day Leader (ref 566) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / School Holiday / £8.20 per hour

If you are a welcoming and caring person, and want to provide exciting activities and experiences for children and young people this could be the job for you.

You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as the Big Day leader. You will have day to day responsibility for both the children and staff within ‘Big Day’, which is an extension of our Daycamps programme both at the beginning and end of each day. ‘Big Day’ provides activities and meals between 07.30am – 09.30am and  3.30pm – 6.00pm (7pm on Thursdays during summer), for children aged 4-16. You will need enthusiasm and imagination to welcome and provide an amazing experience for the children. You will hold a level 3 qualification in either Childcare or Playwork, or a teaching qualification.

Welfare Officer (ref 563) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / Summer Holiday / £7.50 per hour

Are you caring and welcoming? Could you be the first point of contact for any children/families that may need additional support during their time with us?

Our children come from a variety of backgrounds and will need differing levels of support, examples include, those in foster care, lower self esteem, limited social interaction abilities and sometimes just those that are here for the first time. Liaising between these children, their families and other YMCA staff, will be one of key duties a long with supporting staff when dealing with challenging situations or behaviour, and can assist with management strategies. You will also be the contact person for any additional day to day queries, including lost property, forgotten lunches/clothing and also support for first time parents.

Special Needs Buddy (ref 557) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / 35 – 40 hours per week / £6.70 – £7.50 per hour

Looking for summer employment between 21st July to 2nd September 2016? If you’re a welcoming and caring person, and you want to provide an exciting experience for children and young people with additional needs this could be the job for you.

You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as buddy and you will need enthusiasm and imagination and be able to work with a designated child as a 1:1 carer to ensure that they are able to engage with a group of non disabled peers and participate in the activities on offer. Experience with children with additional needs is desirable and good communication skills will be required.

Buddy shifts are
• 07:30 to 16:00 less ½ lunch break. Note between 07:30 – 09:00 on Big Day non 1:1 support @ £6.70 ph (40 hours per week)
• 08:45 to 16:15 less ½ lunch break (35 hours per week)
• 09:30 to 18:00 less ½ lunch break. Note between 16:00 – 18.00 on Big Day non 1:1 support @ £6.70 ph (40 hours per week)

High Ropes & Climbing Instructors (ref 484) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor £8.50 – 12.00 per hour

Do you have a head for heights? Can you encourage others to scamper up our climbing wall? If you have ERCA and/or SPA/CWA+A then we would like to hear from you. We offer a range of high ropes experiences to a variety of clients, which includes a 36 foot/11 meters abseiling/climbing wall, Jacob’s ladder, crate challenge and zip wires. You will assist in delivering safe sessions, working alongside our existing team members. Water Sports Instructor/Senior Instructor (ref 483) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £8.50 – £17.50 per hour

You will take a lead role in the delivery and safe management of the Water Sport programmes we deliver here at Fairthorne Manor (near Botley). The centre is open 7 days a week and we are looking for people to join our team on a casual/supply basis. Working along side the existing team, you will assist in the delivery of water based sessions (kayaking, canoeing, sailing, powerboat) to the variety of clients that use the centre.  If hold RYA Senior Instructor qualification, you will also provide cover for the Senior Sailing Instructor (when needed) – ensuring the safe running of sailing sessions and management of DI’s and AI’s. Duty Managers (ref 598)  / YMCA Winchester / £8.50 per hour

Can you lead a team? Do you have a passion to delivery excellent customer service? Do you have previous experience of working behind a bar or handle cash? We are looking for a team of experienced Duty Manager’s to support the growing programme of events at YMCA Winchester. All roles will be located at St John’s House, in the heart of Winchester.
Job tasks include:
• Managing the smooth running of events including weddings, parties and concerts
• Managing a team of sessional workers
• Managing a cash bar and serving refreshments (workers must be over 18 due to licencing legislation)

Cafe Assistant (ref 567) / YMCA Winchester / £3.87 – £6.70 per hour

Are you able to provide a warm welcome? Do you believe that customers should get the very best service? If yes, then we would like to hear from you. Located in St John’s House in the heart of Winchester city centre, you will be preparing/serving/taking payment for all food and drinks orders within the cafe. You will be welcoming and caring to all customers, making them what to return for the same excellent service.

Events Assistant (ref 528) / YMCA Winchester / £5.30 – £6.70 per hour

Are you looking for a flexible role, where you can be active? Can you follow instructions given to you? Due to our growing programmes of events, we are looking to expand our hospitality team at St John House in the heart of Winchester city and are looking for people who can work front (and/or) back of house. Tasks include:
• Serving refreshments and bar work (only over 18’s are able to serve alcohol)
• Clearing glasses and crockery
• Washing up and light cleaning
• Portering and room set-ups
• Meeting & greeting clients and customers

Youth Worker (ref 594) / YMCA Winchester / 16 hours per months / £10 -£11.50 per hour

Are you an experienced Youth Worker? Do you enjoy supporting young people, being all that they can be? Our Youth work programme engages young people from across the Winchester District and beyond. We offer specialist schools mentoring, partnerships and support to other community groups as well as youth cubs. Housing Support Worker (ref 597) / YMCA Housing Southampton / £17,000 per annum / 37.5 hours per week

Are you able to inspire young people to be all that they can be? Can you support young people increase their self esteem and confidence through positive activity, social interaction and community involvement? Do you have current knowledge of issues facing young people today?

Primarily based at our George Williams House in the heart of Southampton, you will be supporting and assistance up to 12 young people (aged 16 -25) as they work towards further education, training, employment and move-on into full independence. Many of these young people come to us with complex needs and can exhibit very challenging behaviour.  However we believe that every individual is of infinite value and that with the right support and environment, each can be helped to reach their full potential. Night Security (Bank) ref 515 / YMCA Southampton / circa £8.00 per hour

Looking for Night Security on an adhoc basic? We are looking to build our on current bank of staff, who are available to undertake night security work at out supported housing for young people in Southampton city center. You will have experience of working with challenging individuals and behaviour. Understanding of the principals of Risk Assessment, issues facing young people and you will have a basic level of computer literacy. Shifts will generally fall between the hours of 8.30pm and 8.30am Monday to Sunday. Housekeeper (ref 522) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £7.20 per hour / 16 hours per week

Do you have a passion for cleaning? If you are conscientious about children’s environments, why not come and join our friendly Housekeeping team.
