Chef (ref 305) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £7.50 to £8.50 per hour / 22 or 23 hours per week

Base at our beautiful Outdoor Centre near Botley, you will be responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of food to groups and nursery children – our season varies from cooking for 20 up to a maximum of 500 meals at a time across 3 different sites. As Chef, you will also be responsible for the cleaning and supervision of the kitchen to our standards. There are evening and weekend shift available and we are able to provide catered accommodation. You will be a highly motivated person, with the ability to meet deadlines, to use your own initiative in a fast moving and changeable environment. Qualified to at least 7061/2 or NVQ equivalent, you will have proven experience of staff supervision, meeting dietary needs and stock control. Senior Room Leader (Babies) (ref 333) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £16,000 – £20,000 per annum / 37.5 hours per week

Nursery Nurse Apprenticeship (ref 265) / £5323.50 / 37.50 hours per week

Are you an inspiring, motivated individual with an enthusiastic approach to learning and a drive to continually develop yourself? As an apprentice you will be working alongside a well established staff team, gaining hands on experience with children and families. You will receive extensive training to gain knowledge and understanding of childcare and the theories behind practice gaining Nationally recognised qualifications as well as an NVQ Level 2 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce. Nursery Nurse (ref 354) / YMCA Nursery, Gosport / £13,000 – £15,000 per annum / 37.5 hours per week

As one of our valued apprentices, you will be trained to engage and enthuse groups of children and young people, the ‘YMCA Way’. Plus gain nationally recognised qualifications to enable you to instruct a wide range of outdoor education activities. We can provide you with support through your apprenticeship, onsite shared accommodation (if required, rent chargeable) and you will be paid £5678.40 per year (£109.20 per week). Senior Activity Leader, Advanced Apprenticeship (ref 356) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £13,520 per annum / 40 hours per week

As one of our valued and inspiring Senior Activity Leaders, you will be on the Advanced Apprenticeship in ‘Outdoor Programs’, which will equip you with the talents to deliver practical, environmental, physical and social education sessions. This will give you the experience and knowledge to take responsibility for an activity area and organise an activity programme.  You will have at least 1 season experience in delivering ‘taster’ sessions to mainly children and young people in a wide range of outdoor education activities such as canoeing/kayaking, climbing/rope activities and/or forest school/bushcraft. You will have a passion for the outdoors, a welcoming personality, a responsible attitude and the ability to communicate to a wide range of people. As an integral member of the team you will also be assisting in designing/developing exciting activities/programmes to make YMCA an Outdoor Centre of choice.  In return we give you the opportunity to develop your skills and career by providing access to nationally recognised qualifications (i.e. BCU 3 Star in White Water, BCU 3 Star Canoe, BCU /UKCC Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Paddle Sports (training and Assessment) and RYA Powerboat Level 2). These posts are for a fixed term contract of 12 months, starting mid January 2015.
