Residential Camp Supervisor (ref 663) / YMCA Daycamps Fairthorne Manor /50 hours per week / £8.20 per hour

If you’re a welcoming and caring person, and you want to provide an exciting residential experience for children and young people this could be the job for you.

You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as a residential supervisor and you will need enthusiasm and creativity to supervise the children during meal times and plan and lead a developmental programme of evening activities such as wide games, rounder’s and arts/crafts. You will also be responsible for children’s pastoral care and welfare and dealing with any overnight issues that may arise as you will be staying in the same tent village. Other responsibilities include dealing with any behaviour and liaising with parents.

Do you want to provide inspirational experiences for young children (aged 4 – 7) in an amazing outdoor setting? This could be the job for you! You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as the Holiday Club Age Group leader. You will have day to day responsibility for both the children and staff within Holiday Club, ensuring the pastoral care for children aged 4-7 and will be their support and inspiration while they are here. You will also be trained in a variety of activities including Obstacle Course, Aqua Slide and Den Building, as well as group games. You will need enthusiasm and imagination to welcome and provide an amazing experience for the children. Big Day Leader (ref 660) / YMCA Daycamps Fairthorne Manor / £8.20 per hour

Are you a welcoming and caring person, and want to provide exciting activities and experiences for children and young people this could be the job for you. You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as the Big Day Leader. You will have day to day responsibility for both the children and staff within Big Day, which is an extension of our Daycamps programme both at the beginning and end of each day. Big Day provides activities and meals between 07.45am – 09.30am and  3.30pm – 6.00pm (7pm on Thursdays during summer), for children aged 4-16. You will need enthusiasm and imagination to welcome and provide an amazing experience for the children. You will hold a level 3 qualification in either Childcare or Playwork, or a teaching qualification.

Special Needs Buddy (ref 656) / YMCA Daycamps Fairthorne Manor / from £6.95 per hour

If you’re a welcoming and caring person, and you want to provide an exciting experience for children and young people with additional needs this could be the job for you. You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as buddy and you will need enthusiasm and imagination and be able to work with a designated child as a 1:1 carer to ensure that they are able to engage with a group of non disabled peers and participate in the activities on offer. Experience with children with additional needs is desirable and good communication skills will be required.

If you are a welcoming and caring person, and want to provide exciting activities and experiences for children and young people this could be the job for you! You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as a Themed camp leader. You will need enthusiasm and imagination to welcome and provide an amazing experience for the children and to follow the programme and know what activities you are doing for the whole day and support the Themed Group Leader. You will also take children to the toilet, supervise lunch, help children make friends, support children on activities, have your face painted, wear silly outfits, sing lots of songs, help sort out arguments, generally welcome, care for and inspire the children AND HAVE FUN.

Senior Activity Instructor (ref 683) – YMCA Fairthorne Manor / up to £22,000 per annum / 40 hours per week

Based at Fairthorne Manor. You will be a key member of the Programme / Outdoor Senior Team. You will play an important role in the training and assessment of our activity leaders made up of apprentices and volunteers. You will be responsible for instructing, supervising and maintaining all land activities on site. These include high/low ropes, obstacle courses, archery and initiative exercises. You will provide a positive example of leadership and ensure best practice is delivered in all activities at the centre. Also keep centre procedures up to date according to National Governing Body guidelines and advice. Up to £22,000 per year, 40 hours per week The successful applicant will have at least 3 years working in an outdoor learning environment and will possess the skills and experiences to develop and inspire both apprentices and volunteers to deliver high quality outdoor programmes. Instructor (Seasonal) ref 644 – YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £15,000 per annum / approx. 40 hours per week

Are you looking for an outdoor season with a twist? Interested in working with cultures and nationalities from around the world? Whilst also developing your skills as an outdoor instructor and helping others to do the same. Then YMCA Fairthorne Manor has the role for you.

You will engage and enthuse groups of children and young people, and also instruct a wide range of outdoor education activities.  These include traditional outdoor pursuits such as canoeing/kayaking and climbing. And extend to more educational sessions such as ecology or problem solving. You will play an important role in assisting with the high risk training and assessment of other team members made up of apprentices (level 2’s) and volunteers. You will also be responsible for assisting in the delivery of low risk training. You will provide a positive example of leadership and ensure best practice is delivered in all activities at the centre. You will share the lead for the preparation, cooking and service of food at Fairthorne Manor, near Botley. As Chef, you should have a passion for cooking. Our kitchen provides volume catering, the numbers dependant on the season. As Chef, you will also be responsible for the daily supervision of the kitchen to the Organisation’s standards. This fixed term position (up to October 2017) provides straight shifts with routine days off, in a very supportive team environment. In addition, the catering team at Fairthorne Manor are very friendly and energetic and this creates a fun atmosphere to work in. Will you relish the challenges and opportunities presented by working as a key player in our HR Team covering all aspects of HR? We are seeking an ambitious, developing HR Advisor who is seeking a challenge to join a busy HR function where you will have the opportunity to learn and develop within the team. YMCA-FG is a growing children’s charity delivering services and programmes in a number of locations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and positive individual with previous experience of working with senior line managers to give accurate and complex HR advice. Ideally you will have a passion to work within the charity sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a bubbly team whilst working towards an exciting expansion programme within the charity.

What you’ll need to succeed?

To be successful in this role, you will have pre-existing knowledge of Employee relations, case work, policy writing and generalist HR advisory skills, recruitment best practice, previous experience using an HR and Payroll system and all administration associated with the employee life cycle. Excellent written and communication skills are key to this role, as is a keen attention to detail.

You will have previously worked within a busy HR team and will have coordinated work and provided good customer service. You will be an approachable individual who is open minded and values diversity, as well as demonstrating the ability to stay calm and work effectively under pressure.
