Nursery Nurse (ref 406) / YMCA Pre-school, Eastleigh / £5,101 – £6,279 per annum / Term Time / 17.5 hour per week

YMCA is opening a new pre-school in the Cable Works Community Building in the Sirocco Park development on the former Pirelli site in Eastleigh. The Eastleigh Pre School will be our 12th childcare setting, and is looking for inspirational Nursery Nurses. The pre-school is in the heart of a new community and will care for up to 30 children in a new purpose built community building. You should have a passion for using play and the outdoors to provide the best possible outcomes for young children. A strong understanding of children’s developmental needs is essential. Nursery Manager (Maternity Cover) (Ref 394) / YMCA Nursery, Whale Island / £24,000 – £28,500 per annum / 40 hours per week

Could you make YMCA Little Whale Nursery be the best nursery in Portsmouth? You will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day management of the nursery. We at Fairthorne Manor Nursery in Botley are looking for enthusiastic and caring Nursery Nurses to join our dedicated, outstanding team. We are an energetic, passionate outdoor based nursery set in 111 acres of woodland and park land. We use the environment around us to inspire each individual child’s learning and development, incorporating the Forest school approach into the Early years Foundation stage to achieve this. Every activity we carry out encourages each individual’s child’s natural desire to explore and investigate within our environment, building and developing skills and talents and self confidence. Therefore, we are looking for people who enjoy the outdoors and will actively participate in inspiring children aged 4months to 5 years to become confident, caring and inspiring individuals, using the exciting environment around us to attain this.

The nursery is open from 7.30am-6pm, with staff working on a rota basis. Senior Instructor (Land) (ref 421) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £20,000 – £22,000 per annum / 40 hours per week

Do you have a passion for the outdoors? Are you able to inspire a wide age range in adventure activities? Would you like to play a critical part, in developing our Activity Leaders, Apprentice and Volunteers? As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for instructing, supervising and maintaining all land based activities at our Fairthorne Manor Activity Centre. A pivotal part of your role will be to train, assess and support new Apprentices and Activity Leaders during their season with us. You will ensure that best practice is adhered at all times and up date our procedures according to National Governing Body’s guidelines/advice. Essential you have at least 3 years experience working in a similar environment with children/young people, MLTE Climbing Wall Award, UKCC level 1 coaching Paddlesports, GNAS Leaders Awards/ Archery GB Equivalent and current knowledge of outdoor learning with groups. Volunteer Activity Leader (ref 375) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / 8 months starting March 2015

You will be part of the inspirational outdoor learning team, and trained to instruct a wide range of exciting outdoor activities including Canoeing, Kayaking, Climbing, Abseiling, Archery, Low Ropes and Land and Water Ecology. You will also have responsibility for welcoming and caring for children aged 4-16 who are part of school and community groups, and particularly during our large Daycamps programme. This is an energetic, fun but physically demanding role and you will be working hard whilst you are here, it’s a very busy place. You will be sharing accommodation with other Activity Leaders on the Fairthorne Manor site and all of your main meals will be catered for. Volunteer Daycamp Leader (ref 376) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / 22nd June 2015 – 30th August 2015

You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as a group leader, and trained in a variety of activities including Obstacle Course, Aqua Slide and Den Building, as well as group games and Playwork. You will have pastoral responsibility for children aged 4-16 and will be their support and inspiration while they are here. You will need enthusiasm and imagination to welcome and provide an amazing experience for the children. You will be involved in all aspects of Daycamps including Big Day, Sleepover and Campfire. You will be sharing accommodation with other Volunteer Daycamp Leaders on the Fairthorne Manor site and all of your main meals will be catered for. Catering Assistants x 2 (ref 427) / YMCA Winchester House, Shanklin / 20 & 17.5 hours per week / £6.50 – £7.00 per hour

You will share the lead for the preparation, cooking and service of food at Fairthorne Manor.  You will have a passion for cooking and be willing to share your knowledge and experience with the apprentices. This is to cover a period of maternity leave between April 2015 – 31 January 2016.You will also be responsible for the daily supervision of the kitchen to our standards.  We are able to provide straight shifts, with planned weekends off and guaranteed ten days off at Christmas. Housings Officer (ref 339) / YMCA Basingstoke / £7.50 per hour / bank staff

Are you passionate about delivering the best possible outcomes for young people? We currently house 83 young people young people from challenging backgrounds and help them become confident and independent members of the community. You will be responsible for providing night time/weekend housing related support and security. You will monitor and respond to any incidents that compromise the safety, security and well-being of our tenants, visitors or staff.  You will have experience of working this challenging behaviour and individuals, understanding of risk assessments and issues facing young people.
