Early Years Practitioner (ref 652)  – YMCA Nursery Fairthorne Manor / up to £16,000 per annum / 37.5 hours per week. Closing date 29th January 2017

Lead Practitioner, Maternity Cover (ref 637)– YMCA Nursery Fairthorne Manor / up to £24,000 per annum / 37.5 hours per week / fixed term contract – closing date 23rd January 2017

If you hold a level 3 qualification in Childcare (or above) the minimum starting salary is £14,000 per annum for all of our childcare/early years roles.

If applying for one our Childcare Apprentice roles, please note all apprentices will be offered a permanant position at one of our settings on successful completion of their apprenticeship. This offer is dependant on good conduct, attendance and satisfactory work reviews.

Special Needs Buddy (ref 656) / YMCA Daycamps Fairthorne Manor / from £6.95 per hour

If you’re a welcoming and caring person, and you want to provide an exciting experience for children and young people with additional needs this could be the job for you. You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as buddy and you will need enthusiasm and imagination and be able to work with a designated child as a 1:1 carer to ensure that they are able to engage with a group of non disabled peers and participate in the activities on offer. Experience with children with additional needs is desirable and good communication skills will be required.

Themed Camp Leader (ref 659) / YMCA Daycamps Fairthorne Manor / from £6.95 per hour

If you are a welcoming and caring person, and want to provide exciting activities and experiences for children and young people this could be the job for you! You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as a Themed camp leader. You will need enthusiasm and imagination to welcome and provide an amazing experience for the children and to follow the programme and know what activities you are doing for the whole day and support the Themed Group Leader. You will also take children to the toilet, supervise lunch, help children make friends, support children on activities, have your face painted, wear silly outfits, sing lots of songs, help sort out arguments, generally welcome, care for and inspire the children AND HAVE FUN.

Residential Camp Leader (ref 658) / YMCA Daycamps Fairthorne Manor / from £6.95 per hour

If you’re a welcoming and caring person, and you want to provide an exciting residential experience for children and young people this could be the job for you! You will be joining the very successful Daycamp programme as a Residential Leader (either Sunday to Friday or Friday to Sunday) and you will need enthusiasm and creativity to supervise the children during meal times and lead a developmental programme of evening activities such as wide games, rounder’s and arts/crafts. You will also be responsible for children’s pastoral care and welfare and dealing with any overnight issues that may arise as you will be staying in the same tent village.

Daycamp Leader (ref 657) / YMCA Daycamps Fairthorne Manor / from £6.95 per hour

Daycamp Leader (ref 647) / YMCA Daycamps Sholing / from £6.95 per hour

Do you want to gain experience in working with young people age 4 years to 16 years. We are looking for individuals with some experience with children to work at our Daycamps scheme in Southampton. Based in Oasis Academy Mayfield we offer lots of activities and resources for children to really enjoy their holiday. Including art and craft, cooking, sport, walks and more there is lots to get involved in. Training will be given. Expectation to work all school holidays in 2017. Apprentice Activity Leader (ref 635) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £7072 per annum / approx. 40 hours per week

Are you interested in a more hands on approach to learning? Do you prefer for your classroom to be outdoors with extraordinary potential? Then this role is for you. As an apprentice (outdoor) activity instructor you will spend 12 months learning how to become a qualified and exceptional outdoor instructor. You will be trained to engage and enthuse groups of children and young people and also instruct a wide range of outdoor education activities. These include traditional outdoor pursuits such as canoeing/kayaking and climbing, plus more educational sessions such as ecology or problem solving. During your time at the manor you will have the option to live on site (which includes all main meals and is charged monthly). At certain points of the year you will share your home with a number of people from various places around the world. Sharing experiences only possible at Fairthorne Manor! Instructor (Seasonal) ref 644 / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £14,500 per annum / approx. 40 hours per week

Are you looking for an outdoor season with a twist? Interested in working with cultures and nationalities from around the world? Whilst also developing your skills as an outdoor instructor and helping others to do the same. Then YMCA Fairthorne Manor has the role for you.

You will engage and enthuse groups of children and young people, and also instruct a wide range of outdoor education activities.  These include traditional outdoor pursuits such as canoeing/kayaking and climbing. And extend to more educational sessions such as ecology or problem solving. You will play an important role in assisting with the high risk training and assessment of other team members made up of apprentices (level 2’s) and volunteers. You will also be responsible for assisting in the delivery of low risk training. You will provide a positive example of leadership and ensure best practice is delivered in all activities at the centre. Also keep centre procedures up to date according to National Governing Body guidelines and advice. Receptionist & Administrator (Housing) ref 645 / YMCA Housing Basingstoke / £8,000 – £9,000 per annum / 20 hours per week

Do you have a good head for numbers? Are you able to keep calm under pressure? Would you like to work with Young People? if yes, then we have the job for you! You will be based at our Central Basingstoke site where we provide accommodation and low housing support to 83 Young People. You will be an integral part of the housing management team and with responsibility for running reception as well as collecting and administrating rent/service charge payments from residents.  A understanding and ability to manage finance and invoices is essential as well as a want to work with young people and communities.
