If you hold a level 3 qualification in Childcare (or above) the minimum starting salary is £14,000 per annum for all of our childcare/early years roles.

If applying for one our Childcare Apprentice roles, please note all apprentices will be offered a permanant position at one of our settings on successful completion of their apprenticeship. This offer is dependant on good conduct, attendance and satisfactory work reviews.

Lead Instructor (ref 643) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / up to £16,000 per annum / approx. 40 hours per week

Are you looking for a role in the outdoors with a twist? Interested in working with cultures and nationalities from around the world? Whilst also developing your skills as an outdoor instructor and helping others to do the same. Then YMCA Fairthorne Manor has the role for you! You will engage and enthuse groups of children and young people, and also instruct a wide range of outdoor education activities. These include traditional outdoor pursuits such as canoeing/kayaking and climbing. And extend to more educational sessions such as ecology or problem solving. You will play an important role in assisting with the high risk training and assessment of other team members made up of apprentices (level 2’s) and volunteers. You will also be responsible for assisting in the delivery of low risk training. You will provide a positive example of leadership and ensure best practice is delivered in all activities at the centre. Also keep centre procedures up to date according to National Governing Body guidelines and advice. Playworker (ref 636) / YMCA Portsmouth / from £6.95 per hour

YMCA Portsmouth is seeking enthusiastic and inspirational people to join our Children’s Work Team as Playworkers. Our work in Portsmouth currently includes an after school club and holiday playscheme, and we are looking for people who can add extra value to our exciting and engaging activity programmes. You should be willing to get involved in children’s play, both following the children’s lead as well as being able to direct group activities. An ability to work in a fast changing environment with a wide range of different activities is essential. Apprentice Activity Leader (ref 635) / YMCA Fairthorne Manor / £7072 per annum / approx. 40 hours per week

Are you interested in a more hands on approach to learning? Do you prefer for your classroom to be outdoors with extraordinary potential? Then this role is for you. As an apprentice (outdoor) activity instructor you will spend 12 months learning how to become a qualified and exceptional outdoor instructor. You will be trained to engage and enthuse groups of children and young people and also instruct a wide range of outdoor education activities. These include traditional outdoor pursuits such as canoeing/kayaking and climbing, plus more educational sessions such as ecology or problem solving. During your time at the manor you will have the option to live on site (which includes all main meals and is charged monthly). At certain points of the year you will share your home with a number of people from various places around the world. Sharing experiences only possible at Fairthorne Manor! Duty Managers (ref 598)  / YMCA Winchester / £8.50 per hour

Can you lead a team and have a passion to deliver excellent customer service? Do you have previous experience of working behind a bar or handling cash? We are looking for a team of experienced Duty Managers to support the growing programme of events at YMCA Winchester. All roles will be located at St John’s House, in the heart of Winchester.
Job tasks include:
• Managing the smooth running of events including weddings, parties and concerts
• Managing a team of sessional workers
• Managing a cash bar and serving refreshments (workers must be over 18 due to licencing legislation)

Cafe Assistant (ref 567) / YMCA Winchester / up to £7.20 per hour

Are you able to provide a warm welcome? Do you believe that customers should get the very best service? If yes, then we would like to hear from you. Located in St John’s House in the heart of Winchester city centre, you will be preparing/serving/taking payment for all food and drinks orders within the cafe. You will be welcoming and caring to all customers, making them what to return for the same excellent service.

Events Assistant (ref 528) / YMCA Winchester / up to £7.20 per hour

Are you looking for a flexible hospitality role, where you can offer excellent customer service?  Due to our growing programmes of events, we are looking to expand our hospitality team at St John House in the heart of Winchester city and are looking for people who can work front of house or behind the scenes. Tasks include:
• Serving refreshments and bar work (only over 18’s are able to serve alcohol)
• Clearing glasses and crockery
• Washing up and light cleaning
• Portering and room set-ups
• Meeting & greeting clients and customers

Receptionist & Administrator (Housing) ref 645 / YMCA Housing Basingstoke / £8,000 – £9,000 per annum / 20 hours per week

Do you have a good head for numbers? Are you able to keep calm under pressure? Would you like to work with Young People? if yes, then we have the job for you! You will be based at our Central Basingstoke site where we provide accommodation and low housing support to 83 Young People. You will be an integral part of the housing management team and with responsibility for running reception as well as collecting and administrating rent/service charge payments from residents.  A understanding and ability to manage finance and invoices is essential as well as a want to work with young people and communities.
